HELLO, SACTOWN!
Welcome to the premiere issue of The 916 Edit. In this publication, I’ll deliver the best of the Sacramento area’s food, art, and culture to your inbox every Monday.
My name is Hailey. I’m a creatively-minded 30-something who has lived all over the country and is proud to now call Sacramento home. I think there is a lot more going on here than we get credit for. It has been such a joy spending my free time exploring it all, and I want to share that with you.

FAT HAM IS FUN & BOLD

Photo: Capital Stage via their website
James Ijames’s modern reimagining of Hamlet is running at Capital Stage until April 19.
Fat Ham follows the story of Juicy, an introspective queer kid who just wants to study human resources, in the aftermath of his father’s murder and his mother’s remarriage. The play expertly balances audacious humor and larger-than-life characters with heartfelt commentary on generational trauma and the importance of living one’s truth.

Quick Bites
FLASH BREW AT CONCEPT CAFE

Concept Cafe is a worthy newcomer to Midtown’s coffee scene.
Their flash brew is sharp and refreshing on a hot afternoon. It stands on its own without any dairy, which is my measure of a great coffee spot. For a treat, try the s’mores cookie. The sprinkle of salt elevates the sweet, decadent chocolate coating.
